Powers that Be

Those who have been elected and appointed are entrusted to abide by the constitution and take the best interest of their constituents into account when governing.

"If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, then there is no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all forms of government" --Alexander Hamilton

The president is not taking the best interest of his constituents into account by making the assertion that he desires to have the powers of a dictator.

"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," --George W. Bush Washington DC, Dec 18, 2000, during his first trip to Washington as President-Elect
